Overview
Our motivation
Innovation enablers are numerous, sometimes large,
well-established, and influential. And yet, as a class or
organizations they lack visibility and legitimacy, in part because
their performance is so difficult to measure. But innovation
enablers, especially those that rely on public sector financing,
have an urgent need to demonstrate performance. To address
the needs of innovation enablers, we have developed a novel
approach to measuring innovation enabler performance.
Innovation enablers as an organizational class
The Evidence Network's novel approach results from our
identification of innovation enablers as an overarching class of
organizations that share common mission attributes and provide many
common services in support of firm innovation and success.
Measure both mission performance and service performance
Innovation enabler mission performance is assessed in terms of
impact on the performance of client or member firms. Innovation
enabler service performance is assessed in terms of the
effectiveness of the services directed towards improving the
resources and capabilities of firms that are their clients or
members.
Our deliverable
We deliver timely, meaningful evidence of innovation enabler
impact in the form of reports that interpret the responses of
innovation enabler clients to our secure web-based surveys.
Our reports document mission performance in terms of impact on
firms' revenues, product time to market, valuation, etc. and
service performance in terms of the effectiveness of innovation
enabler services.
